Esme comes from a family that practices the art of tattooing, but is unique in that she can use regeneration and degeneration magic to control the flow of time for a subject. One application of this skill is the ability to remove tattoos in order to practice.

This year I worked mainly on improving the sense of place in my art, and pushed myself with a lot of large-scale pieces. My lighting and composition improved as a result. I’d like to continue improving them in 2023 and beyond!

Another piece I did for the Scott The Woz Charity Bonanza this year! I’ve always loved trading cards (and Scott The Woz), so it was really cool to participate in this project. The packs are available here.

Pixel art in a style paying homage to RPGs including Dragon Quest, Paper Mario, Persona, and Final Fantasy. Scott the Woz has an exasperated expression as he faces off against his friends in an RPG-style battle taking place on a paper stage during Christmas time. The characters featured as foes are Rex Mohs (backwards hat, sunglasses), Jerry Attricks (therapist with a clipboard), Terry Lesler (winter coat, offering a DVD case shaped present), Jeb Jab (mailman holding copy of Madden 08), Kay Swiss (disgruntled man holding presentation in suit), a Target employee with his mouth duct-taped shut holding ribs, and God (orb of light). I was commissioned to draw a print for the Scott The Woz Charity Bonanza this year! I had fun paying homage to some of my favorite RPG art styles with this.

over the joshua trees. as the last of the sun disappears over the horizon, the desert gives way to nighttime and you feel the refreshing nighttime air. the nocturnal animals who shelter from the blistering sun are beginning to come out of hiding.
